HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Tulip Time Festival Poster Contest is more than a competition for this year’s winner.
Local artist Michelle Gort grew up with Holland’s annual signature event, and a day after her work “Playful Time” was tabbed to be the symbol for the 2017 festival, she was still proverbially pinching herself over the accomplishment. “It’s a huge honor because of all of the artists that have gone before me,” she explained. “The bar is pretty high. The first art in my home, when my husband and I got married, was a Tulip Time poster that was signed, and I never imagined that I would have an opportunity to be on that.”
Posters, giclee prints and other merchandise featuring “Playful Time” are now on sale at the Tulip Time offices in Holland, with online and other retail availabilities coming “soon,” according to festival officials.
