GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – The 15th annual Great Skate Winterfest has been canceled due to spring like weather this weekend.
Great Skate Winterfest has been held at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids and the event benefits the Griffins Youth Foundation. The hockey players skate with fans for a 24-hour period raising funds for the foundation.
The warm weather has forced the first-ever cancellation of the Great Skate Winterfest as the skating rink will not be useable.
No word on whether is will be rescheduled, but you can make a donation to the Griffins Youth Foundation online.
