HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A recent study shows the overall rates for colon cancer are declining, but the number of younger adults diagnosed is actually on the rise.
Among cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. It is also a disease that can be prevented with screenings says Holland Hospital.
A free Colon Cancer Awareness and Screening presentation will be hosted by by Dr. David Zink. Zink is a digestive disease specialist and will hold a discussion on the importance of colorectal cancer screenings beginning at age 50 and RFA, the new radio frequency ablation procedure to treat Barrett’s esophagus.
