GEORGETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC) – Authorities are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at the Speedway gas station in Georgetown Township.
Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Speedway at 1815 Baldwin Street around 12:58 a.m. Monday, March 13, after the suspect entered the store and demanded money.
The store employee told dispatch that he had been robbed at knifepoint. Investigation shows the suspect entered the store and purchased an item. As he was purchasing the item he produced a knife and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect obtained money from the register and lfet the store on foot.
Sgt. Matt Wilfong says a Sheriff’s K-9 team responded and tracked the suspect and then the track was lost a short distance from the scene.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens. He is 5 9′-5’10 in height and 170 pounds.
