WASHINGTON, DC (WHTC) – President Trump will be in the metro Detroit area today to speak at the American Center for Mobility.
Trump will be visiting the Willow Run site in Ypsilanti Township which is a 335-acre site that will host a new facility for the testing for autonomous and connected vehicles. The Willow Run site will play host to a brand new facility designed not only for testing, but also for research, product development, education and more.
President Trump is expected to announce his administration will start reviewing federal fuel economy mandates put in place by the Obama administration, which call for fleets to average over 54-miles-per-gallon by 2025.
The President will meet with workers and executives about plans to roll back federal red tape to “lead to more American jobs and higher wages, specifically in the automobile sector.” says White House Spokesman Sean Spicer.
This will be Trump’s first visit to Michigan since being inaugurated as the 45thpresident of the United States.
