HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Holland City Council looks into neighborhoods and traveling during tonight’s biweekly work-study session.
Among the items that will be discussed without any formal action taken is a review of the 2016 Annual Neighborhood Indicators Report. Prepared by Community Development Coordinator Sue Harder, the document tracks a variety of socio-economic, code enforcement, property data and civic involvement statistics that indicate improvement or regression over a year’s time in Holland’s five neighborhood areas. City Manager Ryan Cotton and his staff “will continue compiling this data annually as a way to compare changes and ultimately use it to determine trends in our neighborhoods.”
Another issue that Council will discuss is a proposed Regional Downtown Traffic Study, to be conducted in conjunction with the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council, which would look at patterns within and around the central city area. Such a review from a regional perspective hasn’t been done in about 25 years. The MACC and Hope College would help the city in funding the project that could cost a total of around 140 thousand dollars.
Tonight’s work-study session in the second-floor training center of Holland City Hall begins at 5:30 PM and is open to the public.
