HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The sound system at Centennial Park will be upgraded in time for Tulip Time and the fundraising goal of 55,000 has been met.
Tulip Time was awarded a grant of $22,500 from the State of Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs to replace the old system that made it so difficult to hear the music for dutch dancers. A new state of the art system will broadcast remastered scores of the folk music and it will also be used for announcements.
Holland Mayor Nancy DeBoer says it will be a wonderful thing to have in Centennial Park and down 8th Street.
“No more of that crackle pop and can you even hear. No more humming over the PA system.”
This now opens the opportunity for the system to be used by the City of Holland and other private groups outside of Tulip Time. Parties interested in renting the PA system can submit a request by email to Darlene Kuipers, Director of Business Development.
Join the celebration of Dutch Culture, Community and Tulips at Tulip Time May 6 – 14, 2017.
