MACKINAC ISLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 7, 2022) – Mackinac Island is excited to welcome visitors back this spring and is ready to showcase some renovations and changes that have been implemented since last season. Mackinac Island Tourism has unveiled new updates visitors can look forward to seeing including the return of signature events, expansion to the Grand Hotel, new eateries and more.
Of all the current updates, the most notable is the Grand Hotel’s addition of the Woodlands Activity Center. A new BMX bike path, an 18-hole golf course, pickleball court and a greenhouse nature center are all scheduled to open later this summer to provide visitors new ways to experience adventure on the island.
If food is your thing, several restaurant options on Mackinac Island are also expanding. A new Executive Chef at Mission Point will elevate the resort’s farm-to-ferry cuisine. Ice House BBQ has revamped its hospitality experience complete with an outdoor pizza oven. And, the Grand Hotel is soon to open Mackinac Island Pizza Co. focusing on Detroit-style pizza.
As far as events, Mackinac Island will welcome back the annual Lilac Festival, Fourth of July Fireworks Display, Fudge Festival, and Halloween weekend. The Bayview Mackinac Race and Chicago Yacht Club Race To Mackinac will also provide sports fans entertainment on the island.
