WASHINGTON, DC (WHTC) – A Republican Colorado congressman says White House press secretary Sean Spicer “needs to go.”
At a town hall meeting in the Denver area Wednesday night, Republican Representative Mike Coffman told people that President Trump’s chief spokesman needs to resign or be fired because he’s not serving Trump well.
On Tuesday, Spicer said Syria’s chemical weapons attack on civilians was worse than anything Hitler did. Zeeland Congressman Bill Huizenga says he feels Spicer was not trying to use the comment lightly as an example, but trying to underscore the atrocities in Syria.
“Horrible example. I believe he appropiately apologized, but it’s really going to be up to the President. It’s not the job of Congress to figure out who should or shouldn’t be a spokesperson. That’s the job of the President and his team. Just a dumb example. Whoever you are you have to figure out whether or not you’re being served by the person who is out there representing you in the public.”
Spicer has since apologized for forgetting or ignoring that Hitler used poison gas to kill Jews and other minorities during World War Two.
