HOLLAND TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 22-year-old Holland woman is in serious condition and her 18-year-old passenger is in critical condition after a two-vehicle crash on Chicago Drive Thursday, April 14.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene at Chicago Drive and 112th Avenue in Holland Township around 4:10 p.m.
Sgt. Eric Westveer says Angelica Arizmendi was turning northbound onto 112th Avenue with a flashing yellow light from Chicago Drive when she crashed into 33-year-old Jared Jacobs of Zeeland who was westbound on Chicago Drive and had a green light for the intersection.
Arizmendi is listed in serious condition at Holland Hospital. Her passenger Aleigha Kent was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated By Holland Township Fire Rescue. She was airlifted to Butterworth Hospital.
The other driver Jared Jacobs and his two passengers were not injured and refused medical treatment.
Westbound and eastbound Chicago Drive were closed while Aeromed responded to the scene.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
