GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 6, 2022) – On this spring break week for most high school students along the Lakeshore comes word of a single-vehicle crash that injured two Hudsonville teens on Wednesday morning.
First responders were called to the area of 14th Avenue and Ponstein Drive, near the bend connecting 14th with Van Buren Street east of Hudsonville, around 10:20 AM. That’s where an eastbound SUV failed to negotiate a sharp left turn, which led the 16-year-old driver to lose control of the vehicle. It then veered off to roadway, hit a driveway embankment, overturned, hit a tree, and landed on its side.
The driver, who sustained serious injuries, and with a 17-year-old passenger, who was also hurt in the crash, were both taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation.
