HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A new campaign is in the works at the Center for Women in Transition (CWIT) in Holland.
The campaign is called “Forward Together” and was announced at their annual Reach for the Stars event Thursday evening. The agency hopes to reach an initial goal of $2.25 million by the close of 2017, with a longer-term goal of more than $4 million.
The Center received an early match gift of $500,000 from an anonymous donor. At present, the Center has raised $2,061,250 toward the first milestone goal. The Forward Together campaign covers comprehensive needs – future capital improvements, endowment and programming.
Co-chairing the campaign are Mike and Colleen Hill.
CWIT has served Ottawa and Allegan counties for 40 years with a mission to respond to, reduce, and prevent domestic and sexual violence. Rebuilding lives and ending abuse in our community is accomplished through services like emergency shelter, trauma therapy for adults and children, forensic sexual assault nurse examinations, supportive housing, and violence prevention programs and education.
