HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Voters along the lakeshore head to the polls Tuesday for a variety of issues.
In the city of Holland, two ballot issues face registered voters in a special school election on May 2nd. The first is the 18-mill Non-Homestead Property Renewal proposal that the district will seek approval of for three years instead of one. The other is a 10-year Sinking Fund request of four tenths of a mill for one year and one and a quarter mills for the remaining nine years.
The West Ottawa, Zeeland and Fennville school districts in the immediate Lakeshore area are also seeking renewal of the 18-mill non-homestead tax on May 2nd, with Zeeland, Saugatuck and Manilus townships asking voters on that election day to renew millages for road maintenance and fire services.
Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. Go online for a list of where to vote and to look at your ballot in advance. MAX Bus System is offering free rides on their fixed routes on election day.
