HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – There must be something in the water here in Holland says Cherry Republic because they have had the warmest welcome since opening their store in Holland on April 14.
The 2,745 square foot store is located at 29 West 8th Street. Regional Manager Katie Peugeot says Holland is amazing and the people are so nice. Puegeot grew up in Glen Arbor and first started at Cherry Republic’s headquarters in Traverse City store. She now oversees the Frankenmuth, Ann Arbor and Holland store.
What makes the Holland store unique is that they have a lot more lighting, more room and everything just meshes together. The lay out is narrow making the store look longer and that means more room and more product on the shelves.
The store is appealing to the eye and appetite. Everything from jams, salsas, dips to cookies. The Holland location will feature a tasting bar where customers can try cherry-flavored wines and sodas. Right now they store is waiting on their liquor license in order to serve the wines.
Peugeot says they are ready for Tulip Time. They even have tulips in their window display.
“We are prepared that we will be crowded 24/7. One of our biggest things that people know us for is our samples. So you can expect to have hopefully full bowls of samples all the time. That’s something we look forward to and also just expanding our footprint and people getting to know us from all over the world.”
Cherry Republic is known for an abundance of cherries in most of their products. Everything from jams, salsas, dips to cookies. The Holland location will feature a tasting bar where customers can try cherry-flavored wines and sodas.
According to their website, Cherry Republic was founded in 1989 when Bob Sutherland began selling T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan “Life, Liberty, Beaches and Pie” from the trunk of his car. A few years and many thousands of T-shirts later, Bob branched out into cherry products with the opening of their Traverse City store.
Now with the Holland location open the chain will have seven locations in Michigan.
