He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, infant son, Larry, J.; granddaughters, Allison Brink and Rachel Myaard; great-granddaughter, Emma Myaard.
Melvin was a lifelong member of Oakland Christian Reformed Church and spent many years farming on the family farm. He retired from Fleetwood Furniture.
He is survived by his children, Carol Myaard, Larry and Alma Myaard, Marcia and Keldon Brink; 3 grandchildren, Rev. Mitchell and Heather Brink, Charlene and Brandon Beck, Ryan and Ashleigh Myaard; 6 great-grandchildren, Sophie, Scott, Maggie, Grace, Annika, Gabe; sister-in-law, Josephine Hoffman; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Oakland Christian Reformed Church, 4460 38th St, Hamilton, with Rev. Tom Pettinga officiating. Burial will be in Bentheim Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland. Memorial contributions may be given to Resonate Global Ministries.
