HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – An exhibit featuring a variety of works from local artists opens tonight at the Holland Area Arts Council.
The Holland Friends of Art Spring Show will showcase members works and create a unique blend of styles and levels that reflects the on-going creativity in the Lakeshore Community says Margaret Foreman, Communications Manager and Exhibits Co-Coordinator.
“This is the first year we’ve done it as a juried competition. We’ve had to narrow the submissions down because of the popularity of the exhibit. This year a juror Lee Ann Frame, founder of Norris Creek Printmaking Studio has picked out 40 pieces that will be on display in the exhibit. The pieces have a spring feel to it with nature and water.”
A free reception will unveils the works Thursday evening, May 4, from 6-8 p.m. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
The Holland Area Arts Council is located at 150 East 8th Street in Holland.
The Holland Friends of Art (HFA) works to encourage art appreciation and education. Membership is open to anyone with an appreciation for the arts: beginner, amateur, professional, teacher or student. The annual Spring Show provides an opportunity for the members to exhibit the best of their work and creates a unique blend of styles and levels that reflects the on-going growth of creativity in the Lakeshore community.
