SONOMA, CA (WHTC) – Nearly 13 years after their murders, there may be some justice coming for a man believed to have killed a Zeeland man and his fiancé on a northern California beach.
Authorities in Sonoma County say that 38-year-old Shaun Gallon, who is already behind bars for allegedly murdering his brother, conveyed information about the deaths of Jason Allen and Lindsay Cutshall as they slept on a beach along the Pacific Ocean near Jenner in August of 2004 that “no other person could have known.” The 26-year-old Allen and his 23-year-old fiancé were counselors at a Christian camp at the time.
Detectives also say that they have gathered other evidence linking the Forestville man to the crime, and that Gallon had no other connection to the victims other than allegedly shooting them in the head in a “random” act. Gallon was arrested on March 25th on charges of shooting his younger brother and is currently being held without bail.
In a press briefing on Friday, Sonoma County Sheriff Steve Freitas said that Gallon has not yet been charged in the Allen/Cutshall deaths, pending a completion of an investigation by his department and submission of the case to his county district attorney’s office for review.
