HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A financial carrot to help spur donations for a successful summer work program for at-risk youth in Holland has been dangled.
According to the city’s Human Relations Coordinator Esther Fifelski, “an anonymous donor” has established a 10 thousand-dollar matching challenge grant aimed at generating funds for the Holland Youth Connections program. Now in its fifth year, the effort enables youth to get work experiences with local employers, and Holland Public Safety officials believe that the reduction in juvenile crime by 45 percent since the program’s inception in 2013 is directly attributable to the HYC.
More information about the program and the challenge grant is here.
