MACKINAC ISLAND, MI (WHTC) – Today Lt. Governor Brian Calley released the remaining seven points of the plan to Clean Michigan’s Government. The first three points were released on Tuesday May 30th.
In a statement Calley said Michigan is dead last in the United States in having rules ensuring open and transparent government and officeholders.
“Independent studies have consistently said Michigan’s transparency and anti-corruption laws are lacking. My 10 point plan is part of that solution.”
The 10 point plan includes:
1. Part-Time Legislature
2. Cut Pay to Equal Teachers
3. Ban Legislative Pensions & Retiree Healthcare
4. Stop the Revolving Door to Lobbying
5. Transparency in Lawmaking
6. Expand Freedom of Information Act
7. Expose Conflicts
8. Rules on Political Positions
9. Two-Year Budget Cycle
10. We need to Uberize government.
Calley says in a statement that his 10 point plan will be part of the solution to make Michigan better.
