HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Tulip Time’s Pedal the Provinces fall bike tour has joined forces with Kid’s Food Basket in Holland as the official charity partner for 2017.
Kid’s Food Basket in Holland provides 600 sack supper meals every week to three Holland area schools with five school on a waiting list for Ottawa County. Through the sack supper program, kids receive nutritionally balanced meals sometimes filling a gap that schools and parents often cannot meet.
With this new partrnership, Tulip Time aims to raise awareness and to increase the number of meals that the Holland location can provide. Tulip Time is holding a food drive until September 16, 2017. Dry goods from Kid’s Food Basket wish list can be dropped off at the Tulip Time office located at 74 West 8th Street in downtown Holland. You can also bring food donations to the packet pick up and on-site registration on September 16 for Pedal The Provinces.
Pedal the Provinces was inspired by the Elfstedentocht (Eleven-City Bicycle Tour) in the Netherlands. This bike tour will have you riding through many historic sites in the Holland/Zeeland area. . All routes include a pancake breakfast held at Graafschap Church where the Heritage Center will also be open for tours. The event takes place September 16.
