POLKTON TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Four teenagers are in stable condition after a single vehicle rollover crash in Polkton Township Of Ottawa County.
Ottawa County Deputies were called to the scene at Garfield and 76th Avenue on Wednesday evening, June 21, around 8:20 p.m. Sgt. Matt Wilfong says 16-year-old Sena VerBurg of Grand Rapids was driving a 2007 Ford Escape west on Garfield when she lost control of the vehicle. VerBurg told deputies she was talking to friends and not paying attention to the roadway.
The vehicle left the road onto the gravel portion of the shoulder when she started to steer out of the gravel. She overcorrected, lost control and rolled over.
VerBurg and three other teens, front seat passenger 15-year-old Jenna Norder and 16-year-old Marissa Norder of Grand Rapids and 15-year-old Dalton Klevenger of Coopersville were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Responding agencies were the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Coopersville-Polkton Township Fire Rescue and Life EMS.
