HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A movie theater is coming to downtown Holland.
It’s part of a new parking structure that’s being being built in downtown Holland. On Wednesday the Holland city council voted to use about seven-million-dollars on a new 380-space parking ramp on 9th Street between River and Pine Avenues.
Developer Chuck Reid says his Sperry’s Moviehouse will likely open in the Spring of 2019 and he says it wouldn’t be possible without city council approval of seven-million dollars for the 380-space parking ramp.
“Part of the parking garage chatter was us actually requiring the extra parking spaces just for our 500 seat movie theater. We’ll be able to bring thousands of people downtown to enjoy either restaurants, shopping or any other activities.”
The parking garage is expected to be done in about a year, with construction starting either late this year or early in 2018.
