HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Meijer, in association with the delivery service Shipt, has announced that Michigan customers can now order alcohol to be delivered to their home.
Starting Tuesday, July 11th, Shipt members will be able to order craft beers, wines and spirits as part of more than 55,000 grocery and daily essential items available at local Meijer stores. Personal shoppers hand-pick fresh produce, frozen food, baby care products and other items to deliver in a one-hour preferred drop off window. Meijer launched the delivery service last September in Detroit and it has since spread all around Michigan, including Holland, Grand Haven, Muskegon, and the greater Grand Rapids area.
“We’ve received an incredible amount of feedback from customers wanting to take advantage of our large selection of craft beers and wine,” said Art Sebastian, Vice President of Digital Shopping for Meijer. “We think this enhances the level of convenience our home delivery customers in Michigan can enjoy and allows them to take more advantage of what our stores have to offer.”
Shoppers looking to purchase alcohol to be delivered to their residence must verify that they are 21, as well as the person receiving the delivered alcohol to also be 21.
Customers can sign up for the $99 annual membership or $14 monthly membership by going to Meijer.com/shipt. For a limited-time new members will also receive $25 off their first order. Delivery is free for orders over $35; a flat $7 delivery fee is added to any orders under $35.
