HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Two men were injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash Monday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched 96th Avenue north of Ottagon around 4:30 p.m. Sgt. Eric Westveer of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says 71-year-old Lawrence Ratowski of Hamilton was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala northbound when he crossed over the center line to get around an unknown truck that was parked on the side of the road.
At this time a 2012 Honda Odyssey driven by 48-year-old Robert Burne of Belmont was southbound on 96th Avenue and was struck head-on by Lawrence.
Both drivers were injured with Lawrence having to be extricated from his vehicle. He was transported to Holland Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries while Burne was treated at the scene and refused transport to the hospital.
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
