ALLENDALE (WHTC) – Students at Grand Valley State University will have to pony up some more money for tuition for the upcoming school year. University trustees Friday approved a 4.1 percent increase in tuition – that works out to about 237-dollars per semester for a full-time undergraduate student from Michigan. Tuition at GVSU for an in-state undergrad is now just shy of 12-thousand dollars. The new university budget includes a 3.3-million dollar boost in financial aid for students, up to 47-million. The GVSU board Friday also approved construction of a new 70-million building along Grand Rapids’ Medical Mile for the school’s health professions and nursing programs. Construction on the new Finkelstein Hall will begin next summer and be ready for students by May 2021.
