HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The city of Holland will attempt to put its best foot forward for two international judges later this month.
Holland in Bloom officials announced on Sunday that Bob Ivison of London, England and Bob Lewis from Ottawa, Ontario will be touring the Tulip City on July 24th and 25th, running the rule as judges in the Communities in Bloom International Challenge competition. Holland is competing against Bruges, Belgium, Coquitlam, BC and Wood Buffalo, Alberta in the “Large Communities” category, and the judges will be evaluating each entrant’s tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, landscaped area and other aspects of urban beautification. The cities will be given written evaluations and be awarded for its efforts during a symposium in Ottawa in mid-September.
This is Holland’s first entry in this international competition after a number of success over the past six years in the America in Bloom contest.
