PARK TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Three young boys all under the age of 12 are in serious condition after a two-vehicle crash in Park Township on Wednesday afternoon, July 19.
The crash occurred around 1:18 p.m. at Lakeshore Drive and Riley Street according to Sgt. David VanderPloeg of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
The three boys who are 11, 9 and 6-years old were in a 2014 Hyundai Sonata driven by Maya Tardy of Shepherdsville, Kentucky. She was driving west of Riley Street stopped at the intersection of Riley and Lakeshore Drive when Tardy who had come to a stop at the stop sign but failed to yield right of way and collided with a 2015 Chevy Silverado driven by 59-year-old Ernest Vandoorink.
Tardy suffered minor injuries and was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids
The three boys whose names are not being released, were transported to Devos Children’s Hospital in serious condition.
Vandoorink was not injured in the crash.
