HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Disability Network/Lakeshore honors a resident from Ottawa or Allegan County every year with the 2017 Ablilty Award.
The award is presented to a resident who honors those who promote a spirit of inclusion and a community without barriers. The Ability Award began in 2011 as a way to honor Disability Network/ Lakeshore’s Founding Director, Ruth Stegeman, who served in the organization’s leadership for two decades.
Allegan and Ottawa County residents engaged in leadership, advocacy, and empowerment of people with disabilities are eligible for the award. Nominees may be someone who lives with a disability, has a family member with a disability, or is a friend or ally to the disability community.”
