NORTON SHORES, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A police chase in Norton Shores has left one man dead and hospitalized a woman.
A 39-year-old man driving a stolen car was suspected of shoplifting and pulled over on Getty Street by Airline Road. The man then took off when the police officer got out of his car. The officer gave chase and then called it off due to speed and weather condiitions.
The suspect whose name has not been released, then hit a vehicle driven by 92-year-old Duane Quigg at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Huizenga Street. Quigg was killed and his 90-year-old passenger, Elaine Carsok suffered serious injuries.
The suspect is expected to be charged for all of his alleged crimes once he is released from the hospital.
