HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Another tradition that gives new Hope College students a chance to know their new surroundings and their new classmates comes on Saturday.
According to school spokesman Greg Olgers, the 18th annual “Time to Serve” volunteer program will being between 250 and 300 Hope students together over a four-and-a-half-hour period, working in teams of five to 12 persons at more than 20 sites to perform various tasks for charitable organizations. “They get to know each other,” Olgers said in a recent interview on “WHTC Talk of the Town, “they get to know upperclassmen who participate, and they do get to know Holland as well, in different ways that they can become involved.”
Students began classes for this 154th Academic Year at Hope College this past Tuesday.
