HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The League of Women Voters in the Holland Area is hosting off their fall kick off.
Tonight’s speaker will be Dave Koster, general manager of Holland BPW, and he will discuss new Holland BPW power plant and “Meeting the Holland Community’s Future Energy Needs”. He will provide information on initiatives that Holland BPW is planning for the area including water reclamation, broadband fiber optics, water filtration, home retrofits and more..
Penny Shuff is Public Relations Director of the League of Women Voters and says Ottawa County clerk Justin Roebuck will also be on hand with the new voting machines in Ottawa County.
“If you’re interested in learning more about how the democratic works locally as well as statewide, the League of Women Voters is the place for you. It’s a non-partisen group, but we organize candidate forums, we’re interested in voter service, very interested in the history of voting rights and if you’re interesting in women and men who are very active in this community then you should come out.”
The League is also open to men. The meeting is at the Holland Area Arts Council on 8th Street from 6:30-8 p.m. Appetizers and beverages will be served.
