ALPINE TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – An Ottawa County man was seriously injured in a farming accident in Kent County Thursday afternoon.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office says the man who operates a hog farm called 911 around 4:30 p.m. and reported that his arm had been amputated. The man whose name has not been released, was working on a farm located in the 8000 block of Peach Ridge Avenue NW in Alpine Township according to authorities.
The West Olive man was working near the PTO shaft of a manure spreader when his clothes became entangled and his arm was wrapped up in the shaft.
He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
