HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The historic Ottawa Beach Pump House will be getting a public restroom this fall.
According to the Ottawa County Outdoors newsletter, along with the new restroom, a small covered area will be added to the east side building. The improvements will meet a significant need for public restrooms in the area and allow for potential future use of the building as an event space and a museum and learning center.
Ottawa County Parks is partnering with the non-profit Historic Ottawa Beach Society (HOBS) whose goal is to develop and operate a museum and learning center at the former pump house building. Construction will start around September, 15.
Vast improvements and renovations have been made to the building and surrounding outdoor areas over the past several years.
