HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Holland Farmers Market is full of Fall items. From root vegetables, apples, flowers, coffee, breads and of course pumpkins.
Edwin Steenwyk has been selling pumpkins at the Holland Farmers Market for 20 years. He starts planting pumpkins around Memorial Day and farms them out and sells them by Labor Day. His pumpkins comes in all shapes and colors. Some are painted with College and sports teams logos and others have a kid’s theme.
Steenwyk for the idea to paint the pumpkins from his daughter and wife and they do all the painting. He grows over 1,000 [pumpkins a year.
Steenwyk used to own a pumpkin farm, but now they grow on Visser Farms. His pumpkins will be at the Holland Farmers Market every Wednesday and Saturday through Fall.
