HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – John DeKam has been named Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity 2016 Volunteer of the Year.
John volunteers weekly at the Holland ReStore helping customers, unloading trucks and aids the deconstruction team. He helped build the new check out station and designed several custom furniture pieces to be sold at the ReStore.
John has also volunteered on the construction site building homes for Habitat families. In 2016, he volunteered 403 hours in the ReStore and participated in 30 deconstructions.
Some upcoming events for Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity include a Free Community Day at the ReStore in honor of World Habitat Day on October 2nd. Their Heart of Habitat Fall Gala is in Saugatuck on October 26th.
