ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A fire at a landfill near Zeeland had crews asking for more backup as the blaze started around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning consuming at least 50 yards of compost.
Ottawa County Dispatch tells WHTC News that the fire was at Waste Management’s Autumn Hills Landfill located at 700 56th Avenue in Zeeland Charter Township. Right now no other buildings in the area are affected by the fire.
It is unknown what caused the fire.
