GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 34-year-old Zeeland woman turned herself in to authorities last week and faces charges in a deadly crash.
WZZM TV 13 reports that Kristina Ryl of Zeeland has been charged with OWI causing death, reckless driving causing death, reckless driving and OWI-OUIL causing serious injury from a crash that occurred August 23rd in Grand Rapids.
Authorities says Ryl was on Michigan Street when her vehicle failed to make a curve and left the road hitting Joy and John Gillette of Grand Rapids who were out walking their dogs. Joy Gillette died at the scene and her husband John suffered a head injury and broken leg. One of the dogs was killed in the incident as well.
Ryl has been released after posting 10 percent of her $25,000 bail.
