HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A suspect in a Monday afternoon murder at a Holland residence was taken into custody about five hours after the incident.
According to Department of Public Safety Captain Robert Buursma, officers and other first responders were dispatched around 1:30 PM to a residence in the 200 block of West 14th Street, where they found an unnamed 37-year-old woman dead of multiple stab wounds. Witnesses to the incident at the scene claim that the boyfriend of the victim, 56-year-old Keith Gerald Williams, was the perpetrator, and was believed to have fled in a silver 2000 Toyota Four-Runner with Michigan License Plate DSG-5701.
Around 6:30 PM, Williams was arrested at a fast food restaurant’s parking lot off of Washington Avenue near Matt Urban Drive without incident and was taken to the Ottawa County Jail to await video arraignment on various charges.
Detectives didn’t initially disclose a motive for this crime, but believe that Williams had acted alone. The case remains open, and anyone who can provide futher information is asked to contact Holland Public Safety or Silent Observer.
