SPRING LAKE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The ATHENA Leadership award was presented at it’s 13th annual luncheon in Spring Lake to Kelly Springer.
Kelly Springer, Chief Operating Officer at Metal Flow Corporation was honored for her professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.
Springer first joined Metal Flow in 2013 as the Chief Financial Officer, her first C-Suite role, after working 22 years at Plante & Moran where she had advanced to Partner. Throughout her career she made choices to be true to herself and pursue her interests in manufacturing despite being told regularly that “most women don’t choose this path”.
According to the West Coast Chamber of Commerce, as CFO, Springer organized a CFO Roundtable for leaders in a variety of industries to share ideas and learn from others in a safe environment. She supports women in manufacturing and is a strong advocate for women working with equal pay and opportunity.
Kelly is a founding member of Inforum West Michigan and serves on the Michigan Women’s Foundation Advisory Council and is a Board Member of the West Coast Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband Randy are actively involved with three busy teenagers.
The Lakeshore ATHENA Award Program is a collaboration of The Chamber of Commerce Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg, the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce and the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce.
