GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Severe weather is a possibility for West Michigan Saturday.
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a Flood Watch for Ottawa and Allegan Counties until 4:00 a.m. Sunday, October 15 and a Gale Watch along Lake Michigan from South Haven to Holland through Sunday evening. A Wind Advisory is also in effect Sunday from 2:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Overnight winds will increase 30-40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph and strong winds continuing through Sunday.
We can expect several rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms today into tonight. Rainfall could be up to four inches in some areas. Poor drainage and small stream flooding are possible. Stay off the piers as they can become slippery.
