HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A program to support K9 units nationwide is called the Aftermath K9 Grant .
The Holland Department of Public Safety is asking that residents vote for the HDPS K9 unit as the Aftermath K9 Grant is awarding a total of $15,000 in grants to help support local law enforcement offices and their K9 units across the country. The grant can be used in a variety of ways: creation of a K9 unit, canine acquisition, maintenance, purchase of safety equipment, and/or officer training.
Each person can vote up to once a day for the rest of the month. The five departments with the most votes will be awarded grants in the following denominations:
1st Place – $5,0002nd Place – $4,0003rd Place – $3,0004th Place – $2,0005th Place – $1,000
The Department has welcomed their newest K9 Emil to the force. His handler is Officer Ben Reuschel and they recently completed a month of training together at Northern Michigan K9. According to a Facebook post, they are now working the streets of Holland together. Click on this link to vote.
