HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Holland Mayor Nancy DeBoer and Second Ward Councilman Jay Peters participated in a debate three weeks before Tulip City voters will decide who will be their next mayor.
Before a crowd estimated at around 250 at Hope College’s Knickerbocker Theatre, the first-term incumbent and her challenger answered a number of questions submitted by audience members to a panel headed by Hope College Professor of Communications Dr. James Herrick over a 90-minute period.
Due to technical problems, the audio from the entire debate was not usuable; the attached video comprises the opening remarks and the first question to the participants. A full video produced by the school should be available shortly.
DeBoer and Peters have agreed to answer listeners’ questions in a one-hour special on 1450 WHTC and the New 99.7 FM that will air between 5-6 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2017.
