HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – An issue that has emerged in the Holland mayoral campaign could be decided before voters go to the polls.
During tonight’s meeting, City Council members will consider an ordinance amendment that would allow non-owner occupied short term rentals in specific districts. If approved, the AirBnB concept could become a reality in the Tulip City. This subject was brought up during this past Monday’s mayoral debate between incumbent Nancy DeBoer and challenger Jay Peters.
Also during this evening’s business session: Council will consider on first reading an ordinance amendment that would establish a structure for managing the Holland Civic Center Place when renovations are complete next year; decide which firm to retain to help in the search for a new permanent City Manager, as Greg Robinson’s interim tenure in replacing Ryan Cotton expires in February; and establish new rates for parking, snowmelt and the Principal Shopping District among downtown property owners.
