BRTON TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – It’s smooth sailing on westbound M-6.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says the building of the highway is complete and the westbound lanes reopened Friday about 5:00 p.m. Eastbound M-6 was closed from July until mid-September.
The 13-year-old highway had been crumbling due to a shortage in resin when it was built, which is a key part of concrete. The highway had to be built with synthetic resin, the quality of which had not been perfected in 2004.nd M-6 was closed from July until mid-September to be rebuilt. 2004.
