ALLENDALE TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A school bus with Allendale Public Schools slid off the roadway Thursday morning.
Sgt. Brian Buter of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to assist the bus driver around 7:07 a.m on Pierce Street near 56th Avenue in Allendale Township. The bus was westbound on Pierce Street after a pick up and due to the muddy road the bus driver was unable to steer through the exceptionally muddy area where the bus was pulled onto the ditch slope.
Upon the Sheriff’s Office arrival, all the students had been transferred to another bus and were in class. There were no injuries and the bus was not damaged. A tow truck pulled the bus from the ditch and afterwards the bus was able to drive off.
