GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Classes at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) that start before 11:00 a.m. are cancelled today, November 1.
According to a Facebook post from Grand Rapids Community College, GRCC Campus Police and Grand Rapids Police Department are working to investigate what the school calls a “suspicious item” found on the main campus.
Several media outlets are reporting that the item was found in a restroom at the Peter and Pat Cook Academic Hall around 3 a.m. The item the turned out to be a gun magazine with ammunition inside but no gun has been found.
Afternoon classes will go on as scheduled. WHTC will update this story as more information becomes available.
