UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 56-year-old trucker from northern Kentucky lost his life when two semis collided at an intersection on Holland’s North Side late Thursday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Austin, the deceased driver’s name is Saban Ibisevic of Bowling Green. Ibisevic was driving his rig westbound on Riley Street around 11 AM when, according to witnesses, he drove through a red light and into the path of a northbound semi on 120th Avenue.
The driver of the second truck, 47-year-old Timothy Cardux of Holland, told deputies at the scene that he had a green light and had no time to avoid a collision.
The Kentucky trucker, Saban Ibisevic was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ottawa County Medical Examiner’s Office; Cardux was treated for bumps and bruises at the scene. The crash blocked the intersection for several hours, and the investigation into the matter continues.
