HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce has named Jim Hutt of Hutt Inc. as the 2017 Small Business Person of the Year.
Hutt was presented the award at the Wake Up West Coast Breakfast at Hope College’s Haworth Inn & Conference Center this week. Owner and CEO, Jim Hutt is a 30+ year veteran of the temperature controlled transportation and warehousing industry. Founded in 1985, Hutt Trucking Company began as a simple, small trucking business hauling refrigerated and frozen food products to the east coast.
In a press release from the Chamber, after more than 30 years of hard work and dedication, Hutt has evolved and established itself as a leading supply chain services provider in West Michigan offering trucking, deep frozen warehousing, and third-party logistics services.
Each year, the Chamber asks its members to nominate small businesses for the award. The Small Business Person of the Year Selection Committee reviews award nominations and selects an award recipient who has been in business for at least five years and who exemplifies the best of small business in our community. Nominees are judged based on an outstanding and growing business; innovative product(s), increasing jobs, increasing sales, overcoming adversity, and community contributions.
As a member of the West Michigan community, Hutt has added over (50) new jobs, growing from just under (60) employees in 2011 to over (115) employees as of September 2017.
The Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce is the unified voice and leading advocate for 1,300 businesses representing 60,000 employees in the greater Holland/Zeeland area.
