HOLLAND TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect in a hit and run crash in Holland Township.
Sgt. Eric Westveer says the crash at North River and Douglas Avenue occurred Saturday, November 18th at around 10:22 p.m. Investigation shows that the driver of a 2009 Audi fled the scene on foot as units were in route to the scene.
The driver of the Audi was Northbound on River Avenue at a high rate of speed and driving erratically when a 2016 Chevy Silverado driven by 50-year-old Brian Groenhof was turning into a driveway on Douglas. The Audi struck the truck at a high rate of speed.
The K-9 track was initiated on scene, but the driver was unable to be located. Groenhof was transported to Holland Hospital by AMR ambulance with minor injuries and has since been released.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
