HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A tree lighting ceremony in Holland’s Washington Square till take place on Saturday, December 2.
The evening will be filled with fun activities for famlies including carolers from Avalon School of the Arts, free hot chocolate and cookies provided by the Westcore Neighbors along with a scavenger hunt that will involve matching the merchant to the correct holiday decorated window. The winner will receive a gift basket full of items from the businesses in Washington Square.
Earlier in the day at Pereddies enjoy holiday food tasting on 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Washington Square is a business district located on Washington Avenue between 18th and 19th Streets. Tammy Hillen is part of the merchants group putting on the event.
“You know it’s just the cutest little neighborhood I think. There is a great kind of camaraderie between the businesses and the neighbors here. Everyone gets along really well. We all look forward to eachother’s success.”
On Sunday, December 10, Brew Merchant will hold their annual “Beer, carols and ugly sweaters,” a sing-along starting at 7:00 p.m.
